This is not an historic garden like the many imperial gardens in Beijing, but is in a way, something akin to a theme park.

The entire park's design is based on the description of the Grand View Garden as written in the Qing Dynasty classic novel The Dream of the Red Mansion. I have read this long, long book and enjoyed it very much, so when I found out about this park I decided to check it out. It's up-keep could be alittle better, but if you are a fan of the novel - as many Chinese people are - it is worth a visit.
