This is a popular park, located in the Xishan Hills, that served as an imperial park during the Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. It was also Mao Zedong's final base of operation before entering Beijing and starting the People's Republic of China.

I visited the park in October when the autumn foliage is supposed to be at its peak. As you can see from the pictures it was pretty green, with only hints of color. Many people come here year round to walk up Incense Burner Peak for exercise. Hardly a peak, it is a tall hill with steps running all the way to the top. It takes me about an hour to get to the top. The fastest time to the top is 18 minutes.

The majority of pictures in this section are of Azure Cloud Temple; located on the park grounds.
