The Tang Dynasty is probably best known for the wealth of poetry it has contributed to Chinese classical literature. Other than some Song Dynasty poets, Tang poets seem to represent the pinnacle of poetry. The style and structure of Tang poetry have been emulated right up to modern times. Dufu was one of China's most celebrated Tang poets.

Dufu's thatched cottage no longer exists, but a "replica" has been built on the assumed site of his humble abode. It's actually a nice park, but the entry fee is a little steep. Dufu lived in Chengdu for four years, during which he wrote many poems about the suffering of the poor. The park is like a huge memorial to the man.
