The Great Wall stretches across Northern China, from the sea in the East to the deserts of the West. The first sections of the Great Wall were built over 2,000 years ago by Qin Shihuang - the first Emperor of a unified China. Many sections are open to tourism, but most tourists only see Badaling - a restored section of wall from the Ming Dynasty. This is the section pictured here. In the spring I plan to visit two more sections - Mutianyu and Simatai - both of which are considered more interesting sections with better landscapes and views.
